The Finance for Peace Market Network
The Finance for Peace Market Network has been formed to support the growth of the market for peace aligned finance. The Market Network is governed by the Finance for Peace Market Network Committee, which reports to the Board. The key objectives of the Market Network and the Committee include:
- Serve as convening platform for all stakeholders in the Finance for Peace ecosystem: Mainly facilitate the two key links – the “Finance Link” between Issuers/Project Owners and Investors and the “Peace Link” between the Issuers/Project Owners and Peace Builders, by making the network a “marketplace” or forum, where the relevant parties can make contact, have dialogues, collaborate and share knowledge. This information and relationship sharing will also extent to other stakeholders, including policymakers and researchers.
- Raise the awareness and understanding of the Finance for Peace initiative: Raise awareness and enhance knowledge and understanding of the Finance for Peace vision, including the guiding principles and the standards and certification process, among market participants, policymakers, and the broader public, to build momentum for investments in peace-aligned projects.
- Increase private and public investments in Peace Bonds: Mobilise capital by encouraging participation from both public and private sectors to scale up financing of peace-aligned projects.
- Improve market understanding of Peace Bonds: Enhance knowledge of the structure, benefits, and impact of Peace Bonds through capacity-building, guidance, and market education efforts.
- Advocate for policy support for Peace Bonds: Engage with regulators, governments and international bodies to create enabling policy environments that support the growth of the Peace Bond market.
- Support the Finance for Peace Standards Committee: Provide technical, strategic, and operational support to the Finance for Peace Standards Committee in developing, maintaining, and promoting high-quality standards.
- Promote Peace Bond research and PEM innovation: Encourage academic research and practical innovation in Peace Bonds and Peace Enhancing Mechanisms (PEMs) to improve their effectiveness and scalability.
