Finance for Peace today launched version 2026.01 of the Finance for Peace Standards at the 2026 Stockholm Forum on Peace and Development. The Standards are designed to reduce risk through peace measures, making investments more attractive and likely to succeed.

Version 2026.01 brings the earlier Peace Bond and Peace Equity Standards together in one shorter document that applies across all asset classes, from bonds and loans to equities and blended structures. The Standards themselves run to seven pages, with an application form and a worked example, and set out in one place what an investment must build in to reduce the conflict risks it faces.

The Standards require that the applicant outlines the background of the project, a Peace Plan – with Peace Measures and Peace Impact Indicators to monitor them – and the monitoring and reporting, which includes an annual report reviewed by an Independent Verifier. A project or investment that is aligned with the Standards gets Certified by the Finance for Peace Standards Committee and receives a Peace Stamp.

A pipeline of projects is already exploring certification, and through the Market Network Finance for Peace will work with project owners, issuers and investors to bring the first certified transactions to market.

“Finance for Peace is looking to create a market for peace-aligned investments through Standards and Certification. The peace measures incorporated into projects will generate positive peace impact for communities, reduce risk and funding costs for project owners and improve the return risk profile for investor.”
Arne Hassel, Chair, Standards Committee
“Projects designed with the communities they affect are more likely to succeed and contribute to lasting peace. Our Standards provide investors with a credible framework to recognise, assess and finance projects that deliver positive outcomes for both communities and investors.”
Fiona Reynolds, Chair of the Board
